Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former president of Rangpur District Awami League and ex-parliament member Shah Md Abdur Razzaque.
Razzaque, also a Language Movement hero and freedom fighter, breathed his last due to old age complications at his Mahiganj residence in Rangpur last night at the age of 90, reports BSS.
In a condolence message, the prime minister recalled with profound respect the outstanding contributions of Razzaque to the Language Movement and the Liberation War.
“The nation has lost a patriotic organizer as well as an honest and greedless politician at his death,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
