Expressing satisfaction over the Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) polls, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on Thursday said the commission is happy as the election was held peacefully.
“The voting has completed in a festive mood and the voters exercised their franchise without any fear,” he told the reporters at his office in the Election Commission (EC) Bhaban in city’s Agargaon.
Rejecting BNP’s allegation about irregularities in the polls, Huda said, “We’ve gleaned information from the locals. Voters didn’t come up with any complaint.
So, the BNP’s allegation doesn’t seem to be authentic.”
