Prime minister shocked at language movement hero Takiullah’s death

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday expressed deep shock at the death of Muhammad Takiullah, a Language Movement veteran and the son of legendary linguist Dr Muhammad Shahidullah, reports UNB.

In a condolence message, the prime minister, with profound respect, recalled the contributions of Takiullah to the great Language Movement.

Sheikh Hasina prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.

 

Takiullah, 91, breathed his last in city’s Square Hospital on Thursday morning, said family sources adding he had been suffering from lung infection.

He left behind a son, a daughter and wife and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
