As many as 269 Rohingya people, who remained scattered in different upazilas of Chittagong district, have been brought back to the Ukhia refugee camp so far, reports BSS.
“Some 115 Rohingya refugees including women and children have been brought back to Ukhia camp on Sunday and Monday,” Additional DIG of Chittagong Range Kusum Dewan told on Monday.
Besides, 24 Rohingya refugees from Chittagong city, 26 from Banshkhali, 19 from Hathajari and 18 from Sitakundu were brought back to Ukhia refugee camp so far, the police official said.
Patiya police station officer-in-charge Sheikh Muhammad Neyamat Ullah said they are very alert so that the Rohingya people, who took refuge in Bangladesh fleeing violence in the Rakhine state of Myanmar, could not spread across the country.
“Police has been keeping strong surveillance at Patiya check post,” he added.
