Spokesperson of 14-party alliance and Awami League Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim today urged all irrespective of parties and faiths to stand beside the government over the Rohingya issue.
“Rohingya crisis is a humanitarian issue. None should try to catch fish in the troubled water to create any issue over the matter,” he told a press conference after the end of a meeting of the alliance at the Awami League (AL) president’s political office here.
Nasim, also minister for health and family welfare, urged all to cooperate with the government shunning all differences.
“The government is providing shelter to Rohingya refugees on completely humanitarian grounds,” he said.
The minister said because of the government’s diplomatic success, the United Nations, the USA and many countries have condemned the ongoing violence on Rohingya community in Myanmar.
He said the entire world have been witnessing how the Bangladesh government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to handle the Rohingya crisis.
“We cannot support the violence carried out on Rohingya people. It is sever violation of humanity. It cannot be continued,” he said.
