BGB sends back 146 Rohingyas

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members sent back 146 Rohingyas who were trying to enter Bangladesh amid the escalating tension in Myanmar’s Rakhine state following an attack by insurgents on 24 police posts and an army base.

BGB personnel held the trespassers at different points of the Naf river in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar and sent back to Myanmar early Friday.

Tekna-2 BGB commander major Shariful Islam confirmed the matter.
