Tigers eye elevation in ICC Test rankings

An opportunity is lurking for the Tigers to step up into the eighth position in the ICC Test rankings if they could beat Aussies in both of the Tests in the upcoming home series.

Playing against a top ranked team like Australia, the Tigers are looking for a change in their position in the elite list of the longer version cricket.

Bangladesh has been stuck in number ninth position in the point table for many years. Although, they accumulate some points defeating England at home and coming out victorious in the hundredth Test occasion in Sri Lanka, but was not enough to elevate up their position.

At present Bangladesh is carrying 69 rating points, 6 points behind eighth positioned West Indies who have 75 points in their bag.

If Bangladesh could take the series 2-0 against Australia, the home team’s rating point would increase up to 81, hence they have a fair chance to raise in number eighth position in the point table.

Neighboring India is now the top ranked Test team, with 125 points, they are crowning the Test playing nations.

With 110 points, South Africa is holding the second position while England and Australia are in the third and fourth positions respectively.
