Water levels of 54 rivers rise, 34 fall

Water levels at 54 river stations monitored by the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises while 34 stations recorded fall and three are above danger level, reports BSS.

Among the 90 monitored water level stations, two registered steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna, Ganges-Padma and Kushiyara rivers are in rising trend, while the Surma River is in falling trend.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna river may likely to become steady in next 24 hours.

The Ganges-Padma river may likely to continue rising in next 24 hours. The Surma river may likely to rise, while the Kushiyara River may likely to continue rising in next 24 hours.

A total of 94 mm rainfall was recorded at Kanaighat and 50 mm at Jariajanjail station during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am today.
