President off to Singapore for medical checkup

President M Abdul Hamid on Sunday left Dhaka for Singapore for medical check-up, reports BSS.

A regular flight of Singapore Airlines carrying the President took off from Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport at about 1:25 pm.

“Abdul Hamid is scheduled to have his health checkup at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and eye treatment at Singapore National Eye Centre,” said President’s Press Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, deans of the diplomatic corps, cabinet secretary, chiefs of the three services, secretaries, inspector general of police, military and civil high officials concerned saw him off at the VVIP Lounge of the airport.

“The President is expected to return home on August 12,” he added.
