Bangladesh’s ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will lead the Rangpur Riders in the 5th BPL as he has signed an agreement with the team.
At a event at Bashundhara residential area in the capital on Sunday, Mashrafe signed the agreement.
Earlier, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Rangpur Riders have announced their most crucial signing—the Icon player, for the upcoming fifth season of BPL.
Bangladesh’s ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza will be wearing Rangpur’s jersey in this year’s BPL, their Chief Executive Ishtiaque Sadeque confirmed Daily Sun on Friday.
In the previous edition of BPL, Mashrafe was in-charge of Comilla Victorians and led them to the title of BPL 2015.
But he faced some obstacles to maintain his team in 2016 season as there was a rumour that he will join a new team this year.
Country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group has taken over the charge of Rangpur Riders on May this year.
Rangpur have already recruited five overseas players for this season.
They have confirmed West Indian leg-spinner Samuel Badree and batsman Johnson Charles and power hitter Chris Gayle, Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera and England’s Ravi Bopara for their side.
