The couple told an interaction with journalists at Sadique’s ancestral home in Jessore’s Keshabpur on Tuesday that “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked Shabana to join politics in a recent meeting in Dhaka”.

“I can’t enter politics now because I have to give time to my children. But my husband wants to join politics. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, too, wants him in politics,” Shabana said.
